Vestry Nominees

St. Andrew's will elect three new vestry members during the Sunday, December 2, Annual Meeting to fill the expiring terms of Holly Harris, Erin Kutsko, and Michael Williams. Please read on for brief bios of each of the nominees.

Denise Bennett joined St. Andrew’s in 2015 and loves being part of this church family where “there is a charism of love” as a friend told her when she was looking for a church to attend.  Denise is a storyteller, writer, and musician, and a chaplain at Hermitage Richmond, a retirement community on North side.  She sings in the choir, is a licensed preacher for St. Andrew’s, and also serves as a lector and chalice bearer.  She is married to Jim Bennett, who is the music minister at St. John’s Episcopal Church, and they have two grown sons.  

Dwayne Briggs was confirmed in the Episcopal church in 1975 by Bishop Vacheé at St. Martin’s church in Williamsburg, Va. While there, he served as Altar boy for 4 yrs. In the 1980s he attended St. Paul’s church in Petersburg, Virginia, where he was a member of the choir for many years, until he moved to Richmond in 1992. He was introduced to St. Andrews a year and a half ago and found his new spiritual home. In the last year and a half, he has decided to get more involved with the workings of the church and would be honored to serve.

Lorne Field is the Environmental Outreach Coordinator for the Chesterfield County Department of Environmental Engineering. He is a member of the James River Advisory Council, the Middle James Roundtable and he is the Chairperson of the Creation Care Task Force of the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia. He is an avid history buff and amateur photographer and enjoys hiking, snorkeling and trail running along banks of the James and Appomattox Rivers. Lorne graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a major in History and has experience in historical archaeology as well as environmental education.
