Qualified Charitable Distributions
Give Tax-Wise from Your IRA:
Support St. Andrew's Mission Through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)
If you’re age 70½ or older, you can make a tax-free gift from your IRA directly to our church. It’s called a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)—a smart way to support our ministry while reducing your taxable income. Check with your Financial Advisor and Tax Advisor for Tax and planning advice.
What Is a QCD?
A QCD is a direct transfer from your IRA to a qualified nonprofit. It counts toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) but is excluded from your taxable income.
Why Consider a QCD?
• No income tax on the distribution
• Satisfies your RMD
• Supports St. Andrew's mission and sustainability
• Simple to set up through your IRA custodian
Your Gift at Work
Your QCD helps preserve our historic sanctuary, fund outreach programs, and ensure long-term financial health. It’s a meaningful way to leave a legacy of faith and stewardship.
How to Make a QCD
To qualify as a QCD, your gift must come directly to St. Andrew’s. Ask your IRA custodian to send your gift directly to:
St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 236 S. Laurel Street, Richmond, VA 23220-6229
Tax ID: 54-0506475
Attn: Treasurer
To ensure proper acknowledgment, please let us know when your gift is on the way by
